How do I get a website with WebforAuthors?
Click the "Sign Up Now" button at the top of the page, fill out the subscription form and provide a credit card for payment. What subscription plans are offered?
Three plans are offered. Two offer full domain names and one a subdomain name.

The New Domain Plan allows you to choose and register a new domain name (e.g. jqauthor.com) and host it with WebforAuthors. Our system checks to see that the name is available and registers the name when you complete the three step sign up process.
The Domain Hosting Plan is designed for those who already own a domain name and would like to host their website with WebforAuthors. On sign up we email you the information needed to point your domain name to our servers. If you have an old website, it is easy to copy and paste text into our system and upload your image files.
The Subdomain Plan uses the WebforAuthors address plus your sign up name. For example, if you sign up as JQAuthor your web address would be jqauthor.webforauthors.com. This plan is for those who are not ready to register a domain or those who have existing sites and want to use our numerous tools.
Do I have to buy or install software on my computer?
No! Our system is completely web-based. There is no software that you need to buy, download or install on your computer to use WebforAuthors.com. You can login to your Account Manager from any computer with an internet connection and update your site.
How soon will people be able to visit my new website?
With all plans, your website is ready for your content immediately after sign up. For the two domain plans, it can take up to 24 hours for your new name or hosting change to propagate through the internet. This means it may take 24 hours before anyone can access your new website. The delay is due to the way the internet works. With the Subdomain Plan people will be able to access your website immediately.
What do the websites look like?

How easy is it?

Is it safe to use a credit card when signing up?
Yes, we take security measures to assure your safety. All credit card information is encrypted and sent to our processor for approval. We use one of the largest processors in the country. To prevent unauthorized use of your credit card and fraud, we do not store or keep your credit card number or expiration date after the transaction is completed. This assures that your card information cannot be stolen from WebforAuthors and takes a lot of worry off us!
I already have a website, how can WebforAuthors help me?
You can easily move your website to our system by selecting the Domain Hosting plan. Or subscribe to our Subdomain Plan and gain access to several tools which can complement your existing website. With the Subdomain plan you can add a Forum to your website, use the Mailing List and Newsletter tools to manage your lists and send newsletters, use the Shopping Cart to sell your book and manage your orders, and more.
Will I have an email address with my website?
If you have your own domain name (i.e. you have the Domain Hosting Plan or the New Domain Plan) email accounts are included. To set up a new email account, use our Contact form to send a request with the email addresses that you want created and where to forward the messages. We will create forwarding email accounts that automatically forward your messages to the email addresses you provide. The Subdomain Plan does not include email addresses.
What if I want a custom designed website?
We will create a custom design for you. The cost is typically between $750-$1190, depending on complexity. Some limitations apply, so please contact us to discuss your needs. Your design will be integrated into the WebforAuthors system so that you will have access to all our tools and features, however the design will be exclusive to your web site and not available to anyone else. Your only other cost will be the annual subscription fee. Given the tools and features provided by our system, an equivalent site built by a web developer would cost you thousands of dollars.
I want someone to do it all. Can WebforAuthors do it for me?

What is the real cost of having a website?
